Four Fall Favorites in Glasgow-Barren County, KY

The first week of October means time to plan your Autumn trips and late night scary movie marathons. Lucky for you, we can help out with both in Glasgow-Barren County. There is so much to do this fall season, you’ll surely find something for you. When the leaves start to change and there begins to be a chill in the air we suggest putting on your coziest sweater and taking a road trip with your girlfriends, family, or alone. If your roadtrip leads to us, you’re in the right place because here we have listed the top 4 things to do in Glasgow-Barren County for the Autumn season.

  1. Britt’s Orchard

Britt’s orchard is the perfect place for the whole family! At Britt’s you will get to pick out your perfect pumpkin for the porch, or the perfectly shaped pumpkin to carve. Grab your friends and take on the corn maze, which is a fall staple. They also have gourds, hay bales, mums, cornstalks and quite literally anything else that screams FALL! Take your fall pictures in the pumpkin patch or frolic through the corn maze, but either way the trip is worth it!

  1. Hike at Mammoth Cave

We can’t lie. This one is one of our favorites. Mammoth Cave is beautiful all year round, but the national park is unmatched this time of year. While the cave is beautiful, if you want to stick around after your cave tour we suggest catching some of the beautiful foliage at Mammoth Cave. You can catch the color changing leaves on a hike of one of the amazing trails, or even just drive through the park this time of year. We just know you won’t regret it.

  1. Hiking at Brigadoon State Nature Preserve

If you’re looking for more of a secluded and unique fall experience we think you should totally check out the stunning hiking trail at Brigadoon State Nature Preserve. We would like to point out that this hiking trail is stunning all year round, but it is especially beautiful during the Fall season due to the color changing leaves and cooling breeze in the air. If you find yourself with a little extra time during this fall season, get some fresh air at Brigadoon and enjoy the beauty of this season.

  1. Pick Pumpkins on the Honor System

This one just warms our hearts. This is an Autumn tradition for us here in Glasgow. Every year, a yard just off of downtown is filled with pumpkins and gourds for sale on the honor system.  While you’re in the area, pick up all of your favorite pumpkins of the season! When you’re done, drop your payment in the lockbox on-site and you’re all set! You just don’t get this everywhere, it’s some of our precious Autumn traditions like these that are exactly why you should visit us on your road trip this Fall!
